About the Role

Are you passionate about marine life and happy to work weekends? Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters is seeking a dedicated and skilled Aquarist & Conservation Tour Guide to join our vibrant team in Anna Bay, NSW. This full-time role offers more than just employment—it's a chance to protect and care for marine species through hands-on husbandry, while inspiring and educating guests through engaging conservation storytelling. What You'll Be Diving Into

* Tending to our charismatic marine residents, including sharks, rays, and other species, with world-class husbandry and care.
* Keeping our aquatic systems thriving—monitoring water quality, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a healthy environment for all marine life.
* Safely introducing new species and overseeing quarantine protocols with precision and care.
* Leading immersive, conservation-driven tours, connecting guests of all ages to the magic beneath the surface.
* Collaborating with our conservation team on innovative initiatives that raise awareness and drive real-world impact.
* Maintaining facility equipment to the highest standards, ensuring smooth daily operations.
* Committing to best practices in safety, health, and environmental stewardship.

What Makes You a Perfect Fit

* A formal qualification in aquarium management, marine biology, or a related field.
* At least 1 year of hands-on aquarist experience, preferably in a public aquarium or zoo.
* Proven ability in caring for a wide variety of marine species with insight and dedication.
* An enthusiastic communicator with a natural flair for educating and engaging the public.
* Sharp attention to detail, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to challenges.
* A deep-rooted passion for marine conservation and sustainable practices.
* Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and the occasional evening.
