Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal Special Care unit, four operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students
About the Role
At CGH, graduate Registered Midwives will work in our Women’s and Children’s Unit over 12 months, with opportunities to provide women-centred care in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal setting. Midwifery graduates will also have a chance to work in our Special Care Nursery to enhance their neonatal skills and knowledge. Our graduate program includes dedicated educational support and a Graduate Coordinator. This program includes two paid days of extensive orientation to the hospital, paid study days and supernumerary time upon commencement. Midwifery graduates will also be supported to complete mandatory requirements such as FSEP, PROMPT and NNR.
Duties
Work collaboratively with all members of the CGH team.
Manage time and prioritise patient care
Demonstrate a high standard of ethical behaviour and professional practice at all times.
Work within a culture of excellence, ethical conduct and inter-disciplinary collaboration.
Support patient, client and community participation in decisions in all aspects of the service.
Work within CGH policies, procedures and code of conduct.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Third year Bachelor of Midwifery student, eligible to apply for a graduate program with PMCV
A team player with excellentinterpersonal and communication skills
