Job Summary
Primary Location: NT - RAAF Darwin.
We have a new Defence Contract and need an experienced Fire Engineer to manage fire & Life Safety Systems.
About the Role
You will oversee and manage all Fire & Life Safety Systems across multiple defence bases, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, conducting risk assessments, delivering training, and responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Estate Appraisal & Engineering Manager to integrate fire safety initiatives.
* Coordinate and manage Fire Safety Surveys; conduct risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies.
* Deliver training programs on fire safety practices and emergency response.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance fire safety and life protection measures.
* Ensure compliance of inspection and testing activities; maintain records of all fire safety activities and incidents.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies to adhere to national fire safety standards.
* Oversee maintenance, inspection, and testing across multiple defence bases.
* Respond to fire emergencies and provide on-site support and expertise.

Qualifications
* Extensive experience in the fire safety industry, particularly within a defence or high‐security environment.
* Experience developing policies and procedures in line with fire safety standards and regulations.
* Experience training staff on fire safety and emergency response plans.
* Proven track record of conducting fire safety surveys and risk assessments.
* Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards within a defence context.
* Tertiary qualifications in Fire Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
* Certifications as a Fire Safety Engineer or similar professional accreditation.
* Relevant certifications in training fire safety and compliance.
Essential Requirements
Australian Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
