About the role
As a Store Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of one of our cafés — owning results, developing your team and ensuring every customer interaction reflects that special Merlo feeling.
You'll balance people, product and performance, creating a store that runs smoothly, feels great to work in and consistently delivers the quality you'd expect from our renowned brand.
What you'll be responsible for
* Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team
* Creating exceptional customer experiences that drive loyalty
* Managing store financials including wages, sales and cost control
* Upholding Merlo's quality standards across coffee, food and service
* Driving local store initiatives and community engagement
* Building a strong team culture
* Maintaining a safe, organised and well-presented environment
Who we're looking for
We want leaders who see retail as a business and who are passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences.
You'll bring:
* Proven experience managing a café, restaurant or hospitality business including scheduling staff, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as well as a passion for food and hospitality.
* Strong commercial acumen and confidence with KPIs and budgets
* A genuine passion for customer experience and quality
* Exceptional leadership and people development skills
* Strong attention to detail and quality
* The ability to stay calm, organised and solutions-focused in busy environments
* A hands-on leadership style — you lead from the floor
* A love of coffee and an enthusiasm to learn
