Myndshift Group have been engaged by our client partner a well renowned contract miner to recruit a
Production Superintendent
for their large open-cut coal project in the Darling Downs region.
About the Role:
Our client is a well-established and growing mining contractor delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality services across major mining coal operations. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced
Production Superintendent
to lead site-based operations and drive performance across people, plant, and production.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cost control, and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor Supervisors and frontline teams to achieve production and safety targets
* Oversee daily and weekly production planning and execution
* Drive a strong safety culture aligned with client and company standards
* Manage equipment utilisation, availability, and productivity
* Monitor costs, budgets, and operational KPIs
* Build effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with site procedures, statutory requirements, and company systems
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across mining operations
About You:
* Proven experience in a Production Superintendent role
* Strong background in open pit mining within a contracting environment
* Demonstrated leadership capability with a hands-on, proactive approach
* Solid understanding of production planning, cost control, and fleet management
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement
* Relevant statutory qualifications (or ability to obtain)
