Planning Mill Supervisor, Timber Industry – Clarence Valley, NSW
Established in 1952, our client has been supplying high-quality Australian hardwood from their Grafton-based mill for over 65 years. They specialise in high quality Tongue and groove flooring, Pencil Round Decking and joinery timber products.
Why The Clarence Valley?
The valley's main town, historic Grafton (founded 1851) sits on the banks of the Clarence River, Australia's largest east-coast river system. It's a lush landscape for 1,700 jacaranda trees along broad avenues, inspiring the country's oldest floral fete, the Jacaranda Festival, held each year in late October/early November.
The Role:
Our client is a leading timber processing plant based in Grafton on the Far North Coast NSW, and is on the hunt for a Production Supervisor to lead their team and oversee all aspects of production. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the efficient and timely production of company products, ensuring safety, quality and operational excellence.
On Offer:
Permanent full-time position available after satisfactory probationary period.
4 1/2 day week, with an early finish Fridays.
Work in a production environment, where work proceeds, rain, hail or shine.
Work indoors, out of the weather.
Above award wage rates.
Main Duties
* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the production team, ensuring an efficient and high-quality manufacturing process.
* Ensure products are manufactured to quality specifications.
* Monitor and maintain production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and customer orders.
* Build and maintain a strong, motivated team, ensuring all staff are trained.
* Rostering staff on workstations on a rotational basis.
* Promote a culture of open communication, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Experience in a Production Supervisor role in the timber industry desirable.
Experience in grading timber flooring, Decking and other products an advantage.
Forklift license is desirable but not essential.
Drivers' Licence.
Ability to pass pre-employment onboarding checks including but not limited to, 2× reference checks, pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test and criminal history checks.
