As our production continues to increase, we are searching for multiple drivers to operate our Truck & Dog Tippers. We are recruiting for multiple positions, and you can be based out of our Gaskell Quarry, Byford Quarry or our Red Hill Quarry.
Drive and Deliver
Driving a truck and dog tipper for Heidelberg Materials Australia is a great role if you enjoy variety in your day, with some routine. On some days you will be meeting new customers, and on others you will be seeing the same faces as yesterday.
You don’t have to be a customer service superstar, but it would help if you can hold a conversation with our customers when you need to.
About the role:
- Most days will start between 4am and 6am and drivers can work up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 - 55 hours per week. Saturday work is generally available, paid at overtime rates.
- We pay a base rate and once you go past your regular hours in one day the first two after that will be at time and a half. If you do more than 2 hours overtime in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift.
- You will be operating our truck and dog with tipper trailers. If you haven’t mastered a dual tip, we’ll show you how.
- Most days will start at our quarry, and you will be delivering aggregates to our clients. Some days will be the same as the last, but others will have a bit of variety in where you drop off.
- We provide cutting edge technology to keep you safe while driving, and to help you map your routes and track your day.
About you:
- Minimum of HC license with previous truck and dog driving experience (essential).
- You enjoy meeting people, but you also enjoy the solitude of driving.
- You don’t mind a bit of variety in your working days but also enjoy working to a set route and routine.
- You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck.
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Hanson sites).
- Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may be required to be under a specified weight for these trucks.
