Site Supervisor – Investment-Focused Builds (Single, Double & Dual Occ)
Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast Region – From Upper Central Coast to Singleton
Perks: Progression to ACM in 18–24 months | Fully Equipped Dual Cab 4WD | Investment-Focused Projects
About The Company:
Our client is a fast-scaling home builder specialising in investor-driven projects – primarily dual occupancies and single/double storey detached homes. They currently have 28 active sites across the Hunter region with a strong pipelin of new projects, scaling to 150 homes over the next 12 months, and 300–350 over the next three years. The culture is close-knit, practical and growth-oriented, with an emphasis on accountability and commitment.
The Role:
This is a pivotal opportunity for a driven Site Supervisor to take ownership of delivery across 15–20 active jobs (depending on experience), spanning from the upper Central Coast through to Raymond Terrace and Singleton. You'll report directly to the National Head of Construction and be responsible for:
1. · Supervise and manage the full construction lifecycle of single-storey, double-storey, and dual occupancy homes, from site start through to practical completion handover, including the 13-week post-handover warranty/maintenance period; ensure all defects are promptly identified, recorded, and rectified to client satisfaction, with works fully compliant with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, HIA contracts, approved drawings, and Company quality benchmarks.
2. Plan, execute, and monitor construction programs using Hyphen Homefront; efficiently allocate trades, subcontractors, and materials to sites, coordinate all onsite works (including maintenance callbacks), optimise resource utilisation, minimise delays, and drive projects to on-time or ahead-of-schedule delivery.
3. Conduct daily and formal site inspections to implement the company Quality Assurance (QA) framework (including stage checklists, early defect identification/rectification, and thorough practical completion inspections); enforce NSW Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, manage safety audits, complete required documentation, and ensure all personnel comply with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and site safety requirements.
4. Onboard, performance-manage, and negotiate with trade contractors and subcontractors to maintain a reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective trade base; achieve cost-effective outcomes while upholding safety and quality standards.
5. Proactively identify, resolve issues, and remove roadblocks throughout the construction process, escalating to the National Head of Construction as required; take full ownership of site outcomes with meticulous attention to detail, drive urgency and momentum, and maintain projects on or ahead of schedule.
6. Maintain accurate, real-time records in Hyphen Homefront (including defect tracking and compliance) and submit weekly progress updates with photos for client updates and internal reporting.
7. Manage site finances and payments: Verify full work completion before approving POs/invoices; ensure timely submission of bills/receipts to accounts; immediately notify accounts of any payment disputes with subcontractors or suppliers; monitor expenses against approved budgets and obtain prior approval from the National Head of Construction for any overruns.
8. Communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly with trades, subcontractors, the National Head of Construction, clients, and other stakeholders; resolve conflicts calmly and confidently.
9. Ensure on-site compliance with safety, environmental and sustainability requirements (e.g., sediment control and waste management).
About You:
You're a hands-on, practical supervisor with a minimum 5 years' experience delivering detached homes. You thrive in a busy, autonomous environment and pride yourself on your ability to lead from the front, build trust on-site and stay calm under pressure. Ideally, you're:
10. A trade-qualified carpenter (preferred) or have equivalent on-site experience
11. Equipped with a Certificate IV in Building & Construction OR Supervisor Licence (or working toward)
12. Tech-savvy and proficient with tools like Hyphen, Framework, Click Homes or Onsite Companion
13. Adaptable, coachable, and highly organised with strong site coordination and people skills
14. Looking for long-term growth and leadership opportunities
Why Join:
You'll be stepping into a business with momentum and a clear plan for growth. This is a role where your impact will be felt immediately – and where progression is mapped, not promised. The successful candidate will be earmarked for an Area Construction Manager pathway within 18–24 months as the pipeline continues to scale. The company is well-invested in tech, using Hyphen HomeFront to streamline communication between estimating, drafting, construction and sales – giving you full visibility and up-to-date data across all your jobs. A fully equipped dual cab 4WD is already on order, with fuel and tolls covered. As the business gears up for regional and interstate expansion, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high-performing region and be part of a growth story from the ground up.
