* Identify and lead engagement opportunities for major editorial projects, including interactive elements like quizzes, crosswords, and reader stories.
* Act as a bridge between the newsroom and subscribers, sharing audience insights with journalists while drafting high‐quality messaging and responses to reader feedback.
* Coordinate exclusive subscriber experiences, ranging from virtual and in‐person events to subscriber‐only content that highlights newsroom expertise.
* Collaborate with audience and strategy teams to use analytics to improve engagement touchpoints, drive habit, and reduce churn.
* Manage and enhance reader interaction channels, including overseeing comment strategies and providing production assistance for direct audience newsletters.
What You'll Bring
* Substantial experience in an editorial role or journalism, underpinned by solid news judgement and a deep understanding of our publishing mastheads.
* Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to write clear, concise copy that resonates with diverse audiences and maintains brand integrity.
* A track record of innovation, specifically in experimenting with new formats and conceptualising creative ways to tell brand stories on emerging platforms.
* Strong project management abilities, with the capacity to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* A collaborative and adaptable mindset, comfortable working independently or as part of a high‐performing team within a fast‐paced newsroom environment.
* Analytical proficiency, using data and insights to inform strategy and presenting these findings effectively to stakeholders and newsroom leadership.
