About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, the Contract Manager will take accountability for the end-to-end delivery of their portfolio of distribution-connected renewable energy projects from Final Investment Decision (FID) through to Practical Completion, Final Acceptance, and handover to Operations.
Acting as the key interface between the business and Head Contractors, you will provide independent oversight of turnkey EPC delivery, ensuring all contractual, commercial, and performance obligations are met in line with approved scope, programme, and budget.
Rather than directly managing construction, you will focus on contractor management, governance, and assurance - reviewing progress, challenging programmes, and managing risk, claims, variations, and extensions of time to protect their commercial position.
You will lead project governance across multiple concurrent projects, working closely with internal engineering, delivery, and finance teams, while providing clear reporting on project status, risks, and financial performance.
* Oversee delivery of solar, BESS, and hybrid projects via Head Contractors, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, quality, and HSEQ requirements.
* Administer EPC contracts, managing claims, variations, EOTs, and commercial negotiations.
* Monitor contractor performance, design development, and project readiness through to commissioning and handover.
* Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring strong financial governance and reporting.
* Coordinate key stakeholders including contractors, DNSPs, AEMO, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
* 5+ years' experience delivering infrastructure or renewable energy projects, ideally in a client-side, owner's engineer, or EPC environment.
* Proven experience managing turnkey/EPC contracts, including claims, variations, and contract administration.
* Strong understanding of distribution-connected solar/BESS projects (11/22/33kV) and Australian standards.
* Proficient in project controls and systems (Primavera/MS Project, PMIS such as Procore).
