Sailing in Paradise is a well-established charter business delivering premium day charters on the Gold Coast. We're a small, family-owned company that takes pride in our vessels, our crew, and the guest experience we provide. With three Seawind sailing catamarans and year-round charter activity, every day brings something new—parties, proposals, corporate events, and relaxed sightseeing cruises.
We're now looking for an experienced Fleet Manager & Lead Skipper to join the team and take a hands‐on role in running and maintaining our charter fleet.
This position is ideal for an experienced marine professional who enjoys being on the water, working on boats, and leading a crew while helping deliver exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role
This is a hands‐on marine leadership role combining vessel operations, fleet maintenance, and crew support.
You'll help keep the operation running smoothly day to day, skippering charters on busy days and during quieter times you will ensure vessels are maintained to a high standard and handle mechanical repairs and vessel maintenance.
Because this role involves hosting guest charters, you'll need to be comfortable interacting with guests and delivering a welcoming, professional onboard experience.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Guest Experience
Skipper charter vessels as required
Deliver an exceptional onboard experience with energy, calmness, and professionalism
Communicate clearly with guests, crew, and management
Train and support crew and help maintain a strong team environment
Fleet Maintenance & Repairs
Maintain all vessels in excellent operational condition
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues where possible
Carry out routine maintenance and preventative servicing
Coordinate specialist contractors when required
Maintain maintenance logs and service records
Ensure safety equipment and operational systems are maintained
Assist with ordering supplies and managing fleet equipment
Support operational systems and digital tools used to manage the fleet
About You
You're an experienced marine professional who has strong practical knowledge of marine systems and demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing common vessel issues. You'll likely have experience as a senior skipper or fleet supervisor and be comfortable balancing vessel operations with guest‐facing responsibilities.
You'll also be someone who:

* Is practical and hands‐on with tools and maintenance
* Takes pride in well‐presented vessels
* Enjoys interacting with guests and delivering great service
* Is comfortable using technology and digital systems
* Strong hands‐on mechanical and troubleshooting ability
* Experience maintaining marine equipment and vessel systems
* Minimum 3-5 years of commercial skippering experience required
* Must hold valid Australian work rights at the time of application
* Experience with outboard and diesel engines highly regarded
* Knowledge of AMSA regulations and vessel survey requirements
* Strong customer service and guest interaction skills
* Valid Driver's Licence
