Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for supporting and enhancing TRG’s cloud-based infrastructure, which powers its nationally delivered SaaS platforms. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of services within a structured AWS environment.

The position also contributes to future initiatives focused on infrastructure automation, including the introduction of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration using Kubernetes, and the development of observability and monitoring capabilities. The DevOps Engineer works closely with engineering and security teams to maintain operational excellence in a compliance-driven environment aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Infrastructure Support
- Support and maintain a multi-tier AWS infrastructure that includes application servers, relational databases, distributed caching, shared file storage, and object storage.
- Manage compute resources (EC2 instances) across various application environments and availability zones, ensuring uptime, availability, and performance.
- Monitor infrastructure health using AWS-native tools (e.g. CloudWatch, CloudTrail), troubleshoot issues, and respond to alerts or incidents as required.
- Assist with the execution and maintenance of infrastructure-level backup strategies, including EBS snapshots and RDS backups with defined retention policies.
- Support system patching, package updates, and security hardening practices across Linux environments.
- Participate in resource planning and capacity management to support application scaling and performance tuning.
- Implement and maintain IAM roles, security groups, and networking configurations to uphold least-privilege access and secure network segmentation.
- Document infrastructure configuration, operational procedures, and change management records in line with ISO/IEC 27001 requirements.
- Contribute to planned enhancements such as introducing infrastructure automation, container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipeline adoption.

Development

- Develop and maintain internal tools, scripts, and utilities to support operations, system administration, reporting, and internal team workflows.
- Build integrations between internal systems and third-party services or APIs (e.g. ticketing systems, communication tools, monitoring platforms).
- Automate repetitive processes and administrative tasks using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Assist in implementing AI-enabled workflows, automation, and integrations across internal applications and processes.
- Support internal stakeholders by delivering technical solutions that improve efficiency and data accuracy.
- Maintain documentation for all developed tools, scripts, and automated processes to ensure maintainability and audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort or human error in recurring internal workflows and propose automation strategies accordingly.

Requirements

Role Requirements

- Demonstrated experience managing cloud infrastructure using AWS and Azure services.
- Proficiency with Linux system administration, including patching, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, PHP, .NET, or equivalent for automation and process improvement.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, log management, and alerting using AWS-native or similar tools.
- Experience with access control, security group configuration, and IAM policies aligned with least-privilege principles.
- Ability to develop and maintain internal utilities, scripts, or dashboards to support team operations and compliance needs.
- Understanding of backup strategies, disaster recovery, and system availability concepts.
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD tools, or containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
- Experience or familiarity with AI technologies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), prompt engineering, or integrating AI APIs into internal tools is considered a plus.
- Strong documentation habits and an understanding of operating within a compliance-driven (ISO/IEC 27001/SOC 2) environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across infrastructure, security, and admin teams.
