Fort Street High School is an academically selective high school with a long history of providing education for high potential and gifted students. The school is located in Petersham and has an enrolment of 910 students of whom 75% come from language backgrounds other than English. Fortians are encouraged to be self-directed, independent learners and critically thinking young adults who contribute to society in the context of a highly developed social conscience. The school provides a wide range of co-curricular programs which enhance the learning of Fortians. The school is supported by a diverse and highly engaged parent and carer community.
**Selection Criteria**: 
Approval to teach Visual Arts (7-12) and Approval to teach Photography and Digital Media (7-10)
Demonstrated quality teaching practice and the ability to provide engaging learning experiences appropriate for high potential and gifted students
Ability to work as a collaborative faculty member to design, deliver and evaluate quality teaching, learning and assessment programs
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the wider school community through co-curricular activities
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
