About the Role
Responsible for the management of all aspects of maintenance and/or contracted staff on a daily basis. Direct, co-ordinate and perform routine, preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance in a timely, cost effective, and efficient manner for the entire hotel property, interior and exterior.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily operations, including budget planning, departmental spending, and compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
* Manage and maintain all building systems and equipment, ensuring timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and minimal disruption to hotel operations.
* Maintain legal compliance including BWOF and other regulatory requirements, while keeping all plant and equipment in optimal working condition.
* Lead and schedule the maintenance team, manage rosters, support training, and boost team morale and performance to meet service targets.
* Respond to guest and interdepartmental maintenance requests efficiently, while also supporting other departments and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in hotel or building maintenance, including general duties such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
* Strong understanding of compliance standards including WHS, electrical safety, and preventative maintenance practices.
* Budgeting and cost control skills with experience managing R&M budgets and monitoring expenses.
* Excellent team leadership, training, and rostering experience to ensure departmental efficiency and staff development.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and escalate issues appropriately.
