About the role
As a Bus Driver / Deckhand at Torres Strait Tours Pty Limited, you will play a crucial role in providing transportation and support for the company's operations. This full-time position is based on Thursday Island, Queensland, offering the opportunity to be part of an exciting and vibrant regional business.

What you'll be doing
* Safely operate buses to transport passengers around Thursday Island & Horn Island Airport transfers
* Assist with loading and unloading passenger luggage and equipment
* Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for all passengers
* Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on the company's vehicle fleet
* Support the deck operations on the company's boats as needed
* Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver reliable and efficient services
* Freight Deliveries
* Ride Share Services
What we're looking for
* Must hold a current MR (Medium Rigid) heavy vehicle driver's licence as a minimum requirement
* Experience driving buses or other heavy vehicles in a tourism or transportation setting
* Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
* Familiarity with regional geography and the ability to follow safe driving routes
* Physical fitness and the capacity to assist with loading/unloading boats and equipment
* Must have, or be able to obtain, a Queensland Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation
* Must have valid Australian work rights and be eligible to work in Queensland
* Successful candidates must pass a National Police Check and pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain before starting)
* Minimum of 2 years' experience operating heavy vehicles in a commercial environment
