Our client has an opportunity for a high performing Commercial Manager to join their Asset and Development Services Business which delivers Technical Services contracts across Australia. This role will proactively develop and implement effective commercial strategies for the business.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will provide commercial leadership and implementation of commercial processes and practices that underpins the successful delivery of the Technical Services contracts including reactive maintenance, planned maintenance and small capital and project works.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage aspects of National Technical Services contracts across Australia to support Asset and Development Services business (Facility & Asset Services)
- This role will proactively develop and implement effective commercial strategies for the business and directly support a Tier 3 Client as a competitive and respected provider of technical services.
- Provide commercial advice and support head contract contractual reviews and negotiations
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers/subcontractors
- Prepare and/or review contract time and cost claims
- Support their clients by providing critical reports, forms and documentation
- Project delivery commercial support, including management of contract KPIs and abatements
**About You**:
- Experience managing head contract contractual reviews and negotiations
- You will have demonstrable and successful senior commercial management experience, within a **construction, infrastructure or heavy industrial** environment
- The ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders/ clients, peers and colleagues including mentoring and training junior colleagues
- Excellent verbal and written skills together with outstanding organisational and time management skills
- A sound understanding of the Australian construction market and its forms of contract
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving and planning/prioritisation skills
- The ability to operate across the business through open communication and engagement and work effectively in teams to identify and improve processes
- A tertiary qualification would be advantageous
