Senior financial analyst

Perth
Hunter Manning
Financial Analyst
Posted: 12 June
Offer description

Hunter Manning is exclusively partnered with Byrnecut on a retained basis to find a standout Senior Finance Analyst — a rare chance to join a powerhouse in the mining industry and drive meaningful financial outcomes.

About Byrnecut

Byrnecut is one of Australia's leading underground mining contractors, operating across Australia and internationally with a strong reputation for technical excellence, operational discipline and long-term client partnerships. As the business continues to grow, the Finance function is evolving — and this role is an integral part of that journey.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Project Manager / Lead (and indirectly to the GM Finance), this role sits within a close-knit finance analyst team at Byrnecut's Head Office. You will lead the delivery of finance improvement projects and initiatives, working across analysis, reporting, systems, process improvement and stakeholder engagement to strengthen financial operations and embed lasting change across the Finance function.

This is a great opportunity for a driven finance professional looking to step into a more senior, project-led role within a complex, multi-entity business — with genuine scope to influence outcomes and develop within a structured and supportive team environment.

What you'll be doing

* Leading and supporting the delivery of finance improvement projects, including planning, coordination, documentation and implementation
* Providing high-quality analysis, reporting and project support across assigned finance initiatives
* Preparing and maintaining project plans, action registers, status updates, risk and issue logs and implementation materials
* Supporting finance systems, ERP and process improvement initiatives, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing and implementation follow-up
* Building effective working relationships across Finance, Shared Services and Technology to support aligned, coordinated delivery
* Communicating clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels on project progress, risks, issues and decisions
* Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting frameworks and ways of working — and supporting practical implementation of agreed changes
* Coordinating and overseeing external vendors, consultants and implementation partners where required

About you

You are a detail-oriented and commercially curious finance professional with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in how finance can drive better business outcomes. You're comfortable managing competing priorities, communicating clearly with stakeholders at different levels, and producing high-quality work in a structured, governed environment.

Essential experience & skills

* Demonstrated experience in finance analysis, reporting, project coordination or business improvement in a corporate, finance or shared services environment
* Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing tasks, deadlines and stakeholder inputs
* Excellent analytical capability and attention to detail, with the ability to work with data, identify issues and provide accurate, decision-ready information
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging stakeholders across all levels of the business
* Sound judgement and a professional approach to governance, confidentiality and follow-through
* A collaborative approach and willingness to support the broader team across varied workstreams

Preferred / advantageous

* Experience supporting finance projects involving systems, ERP, process improvement or change initiatives
* Background in finance analysis, management reporting or project reporting within a shared services or corporate environment
* Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance, accounting or a related discipline
* Exposure to project methodologies, reporting tools or data visualisation tools
* Established, privately-owned mining contractor with a collaborative culture and a strong track record
* A project-led role with genuine scope to influence outcomes across the Finance function
* Work closely with experienced senior finance professionals and gain meaningful mentorship and development
* Stable, full-time role based in Perth with a team environment that values accountability and high-quality work
* A pathway to grow within the Finance function as the business continues to invest in its people and capabilities
