Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development Manager, located in Melbourne, VIC. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and managing the sales process from prospecting to closing. Day-to-day tasks include conducting market research, attending industry events, presenting proposals, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure client requirements are met. The role also involves tracking sales metrics, preparing reports, and contributing to strategy development.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead sales and business development, securing contracts with Tier One and major contractors.
* Support operational delivery and contract management, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with safety standards.
* Maximise asset utilisation, including fleet and equipment management, to optimise productivity and revenue.
* Develop and monitor the business plan, taking corrective actions to meet short- and long-term objectives.
* Collaborate with other state teams to support broader business goals.
* Manage sales budgets and commercial performance across the region.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in crane hire, rig, heavy lifting, or construction equipment services.
* Strong sales and business development expertise with a proven track record securing Tier One or major contractor work.
* Demonstrated sales leadership and exposure to managing teams and operational delivery.
* Hands-on approach with the ability to engage with on-site personnel as needed.
* Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and contracts.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in other state markets is advantageous but not essential.
