Overview
Join the talented team at Alsop Fabrication Pty Ltd as a full-time CAD Designer in our Taren Point, NSW headquarters. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for utilising your expertise in industrial design and computer-aided design (CAD) to bring our clients' cutting-edge ideas to life through high-quality product designs and workshop drawings.
What you'll be doing
- Collaborate closely with the design and engineering teams to interpret client briefs and develop detailed CAD models and shop drawings, DXF files for laser cutting etc.
- Produce accurate technical drawings, renderings and specifications to support the manufacturing process
- Provide expertise and guidance to junior team members on CAD software and design best practices
- Participate in project meetings to present design concepts and get feedback from architects / builders / clients
- Ensure all design work meets relevant industry standards and safety regulations
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a CAD Designer or Product Designer, ideally within the manufacturing industry
- Proficient in using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes and materials
- Excellent 3D visualisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate conceptual ideas into detailed, functional designs
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
