Senior Medical Receptionist / Personal Assistant to Principal GP (Shukla Medical and Skin)

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our busy, high-yielding GP practice in a pivotal dual role that combines front desk leadership with Personal Assistant support to the Principal GP .

Key Responsibilities
Reception & Practice Operations
* Welcoming patients with warmth and professionalism
* Managing high-volume phone calls and appointment scheduling
* Accurate Medicare, DVA, private and third-party billing
* Adept in Skin cancer and excision, flaps and minor surgery billing
* Processing payments and daily reconciliation
* Handling recalls, results, and correspondence, chasing medicare and arrears debt collection
* Supporting smooth day-to-day practice workflow
Personal Assistant to the Principal GP
* Managing the Principal GP’s diary, meetings, and commitments
* Email screening and correspondence drafting
* Coordinating rosters, leave, and locum bookings (if required)
* Assisting with reporting, document preparation, and follow-ups
* Liaising with providers, stakeholders, and external organisations
* Supporting practice projects, accreditation, and business tasks
* Maintaining confidentiality at all times

Essential:
* Previous medical reception or strong administrative experience
* Excellent computer and typing skills
* Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
Highly regarded:
* Experience with Best Practice minimum 6 months experience 1 year preferred
* Knowledge of Medicare billing and item numbers
* Previous PA / executive assistant experience
