Family Support Specialist
The Family Support Specialist is a critical role in supporting children and young people's families in need. This position requires a compassionate and experienced clinician to provide therapeutic support, working closely with the community to create positive change.
This dynamic role involves delivering targeted, evidence-based support to families across the region, engaging with clients in various settings including homes, schools, and community spaces. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with internal and external partners to ensure coordinated care.
The ideal candidate will have strong skills in assessment, intervention, and outcome evaluation, along with a clear understanding of the legal and policy frameworks governing child protection. They must be able to respond with sensitivity, professionalism, and ethical care in complex situations.
Requirements include holding a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health is also desirable.
