Overview Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) People and Culture is seeking an experienced qualified for the role of Director Psychosocial Safety, Diversity and Inclusion. A modern Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) professional must safeguard both physical and psychological wellbeing, recognising that, alongside traditional physical and psychosocial hazards, exclusion, cultural disconnection, and inequity also pose significant risks.
What will you do? Leading a small, dedicated team, you will provide strategic leadership and expert support in designing, implementing, and sustaining integrated psychosocial safety strategies. You will champion initiatives that prioritise psychosocial and psychological wellbeing, recognising that exclusion, cultural disconnection, and inequity require the same diligence and risk management processes.
Responsibilities
The position will require you to identify, assess, and address a wide range of risks emerging from work design, organisational culture, and interpersonal factors.
You will oversee the creation, delivery, and continuous improvement of programs and systems that manage psychosocial hazards.
Drawing on evidence-based practices and strategic partnerships, you will ensure the translation of policy into meaningful, measurable outcomes, including delivery of the various strategic people focused projects (e.g. Reconciliation Action Plan, psychosocial safety plans).
You will help embed a culture of safety, respect, belonging, and reconciliation that reflects CIT’s commitment to diversity and the ACTPS values.
