Overview
We have an opportunity for an experienced Service Design and Transition Delivery Lead to support a multi-year Defence program to deliver and sustain an enterprise Health Knowledge Management System. This capability will enable better clinical decision making for the ADF.
Responsibilities
* Lead and govern the engineering team delivering system, software, integration, and data services to Defence, including technical design, baselines, reviews, and alignment with program governance.
* Ensure satisfaction of Customer Descriptions of Requirements within technical, schedule, and cost constraints, managing sustainment contracts and additional work orders through to delivery.
* Plan and manage the full engineering lifecycle to ensure mission and support systems remain fit for purpose, secure, and aligned with product release cycles.
* Own availability, capacity, performance, demand management, and IT service continuity/disaster recovery planning, initiating corrective actions to maintain agreed service levels.
* Ensure non-functional requirements are met, including availability, performance, service continuity, IT security, configuration, asset, and change management.
* Oversee applications systems engineering, integration, data quality/synchronisation, patching, release, deployment, verification and validation (V&V).
* Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to drive solution roadmaps, prioritise improvements, and coordinate transition, training, knowledge management, and organisational change.
Your Background
* Extensive experience delivering large-scale, complex, software-centric programs, including senior roles leading engineering teams and integrated system support activities.
* Strong background in systems and software engineering, enterprise architecture, SDLC, and configuration baseline management within multi-vendor, multi-product environments.
* Demonstrated experience managing high-performance outcomes under managed service provider contracts, including sustainment, maintenance, and support of complex systems.
* Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues using strong analytical, conceptual, and methodical approaches with high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with experience influencing stakeholders and operating in customer-facing roles.
* Experience producing contractual and service-focused reports, with desirable exposure to Defence Technical Regulation frameworks (e.g. TAF) and regulated environments.
* Highly motivated and flexible professional with experience delivering and supporting cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and desirable exposure to health systems, interoperability, and clinical domains.
