The ANZ Transit and Freight Rail capability consists of resources that are locally based in our regions and across ANZ. AECOM are involved in rail projects across the life cycle from feasibility and Business Cases, through concept and into detailed design. Our Transit and Freight Rail projects are typically large scale in nature but can also involve smaller commissions.
The range of design services we provide in-house covers a broad spectrum of civil, structural and station design as well as most rail systems disciplines. Senior level design management personnel deliver the multi-disciplinary designs to deliver integrated, efficient and safe design outcomes to the clients.
In a Rail and Systems Design Lead position joining the wider rail team based in Perth, where you will be responsible for the growth and development of rail design services and/or you will have the opportunity to work in diverse rail planning or design delivery teams on iconic projects either in the local region or wider ANZ. This may entail travel for project related work with the ability to be Perth based in line with AECOM's desire to maintain an effective work-life balance for all employees.
In addition to project focussed rail design management roles, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in the further development of our growth and capability in rail design and advisory services locally and to an extent, within the ANZ region. This would occur through ANZ-wide technical lead forums, and connection to the Global Capability Centres.
The role is expected to interact significantly with the project managers, other technical discipline leads and design managers working for our alliance partners.
The successful applicant must have an in-depth understanding of the railway industry, design integration as well as an appreciation of typical processes and requirements on complex major rail projects
**Key responsibilities and expected minimum**:
+ To be successful in this role you must have an excellent track record of delivering large and complex rail design projects. A background in construction related roles is desirable.
+ You have significant experience in managing/overseeing large scale and complex projects with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines independently or within a team environment.
+ Excellent communication skills, be driven by outcomes, have a conscientious and detailed approach, along with a positive and pro-active approach to the team.
+ You have a track record in managing key client relationships, pursuing new opportunities, developing winning proposals and achieving business growth
