Slater and Gordon is seeking a Cloud Engineer with a strong DevSecOps focus to design, build, and operate secure, reliable, and cost‐efficient cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure. With skills in CI/CD tools and practices, Infrastructure as Code scripting, and a focus on automating processes, you'll deliver core services that support application development.
Responsibilities
* Design and evolve Azure cloud architecture, including landing zones and core services
* Drive modern DevOps practices and secure‐by‐default delivery pipelines
* Implement and manage networking, connectivity, and hybrid cloud solutions
* Operate and support cloud platforms, including monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements
* Embed security, compliance, identity, and privacy best practices
* Develop low‐level designs for key platform components (compute, storage, data, integration)
* Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Bicep and CI/CD pipelines
* Implement automation, guardrails, and scripting (PowerShell/Python) to improve efficiency and security
* Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
* Optimise cost and performance while maintaining governance, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications
* 8+ years' experience in technical roles, including Cloud Engineering and/or DevOps Engineering in complex environments
* Strong expertise in Azure (preferred); AWS exposure is a bonus
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket)
* Experience with cloud migrations and modern DevOps practices
* Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) and Git‐based workflows
* Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and controls
* Solid networking knowledge and cloud architecture design capability
* Excellent problem‐solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, and work across teams
* Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and tools such as Atlassian suite

To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with full and unrestricted working rights in Australia. Proof of work rights will be required as part of the Slater and Gordon application process.
