Mallee Family Care is seeking a Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our team on a full-time or part-time fixed-term contract basis in Mildura.
Position Summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity backfill position that supports the delivery of the Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response (EIPSR) program, a State Government funded support program administered through Mildura Base Public Hospital.
About the EIPSR Program
The EIPSR program is a psychosocial support model targeted at adult clients with severe mental illness and associated psychiatric disability who are not eligible for the NDIS or waiting for an access decision and plan commencement. The service provides short to medium term specialist psychosocial support to help eligible clients build their capacity to manage their mental illness, develop practical life skills, achieve health and functional lives, and transition to the NDIS if eligible.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supports clients with their mental health care, recognising and embracing recovery-oriented practice principles.
2. Maximises client capacity, capability, self-determination, and self-management of mental health and wellbeing.
3. Assists families, carers, and significant others to understand challenges and opportunities arising from their family member's experiences.
4. Contributes to minimising the risk of clinical admission or re-admission.
Requirements
* Accredited tertiary qualification relevant to the position at degree level or above in Mental Health, Psychology, or Social Work. Diploma level qualification in a relevant field may be considered.
* Previous relevant experience in the field and a current driver's licence.
* Willingness to travel and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.
* People with lived or living experience of public mental health services are encouraged to apply.
