Job Title: Referee Development Specialist
This is a key role within our organization, responsible for leading the rollout of our new Referee Education and Development Framework across Western Australia.
* Framework Implementation: Roll out TFA's Referee Education and Development Framework across WA. Develop and deliver implementation plans and measurable outcomes. Adapt national resources for local application while maintaining consistency.
* Education & Training: Coordinate and deliver Affiliate Referee courses and workshops. Support referee accreditation and training pathways. Recruit and develop a panel of local course facilitators and referee coach educators.
* Pathway Development: Build structured pathways from affiliate to representative level. Support referee grading at events and develop high-potential officials. Enhance mentorship programs like RADAR to support referee growth.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with affiliate clubs, referee directors, and volunteers. Promote referee recruitment and retention across the touch football community. Represent WA in national referee development forums.
* Program Evaluation: Monitor referee participation, retention, and progression. Provide regular reporting and contribute to continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience in sports officiating, development, or administration. Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. High-level organisational and self-management skills. Knowledge of officiating principles (Touch Football preferred but not essential). Ability to deliver training and development programs.
Desirable Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in sport management or related discipline. Current or past Touch Football referee accreditation. Familiarity with modern officiating principles and the Australian Physical Literacy Framework.
