Site and Service

Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital's Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia.

About the Role

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will support Registered and Enrolled Nurses in providing quality care to patients across a range of clinical settings. You'll be responsible for delivering essential care tasks and assisting with daily activities, helping to ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified experience for patients.

About You

* Be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery (state year of program, e.g., 3rd year) and have completed any training required by the employer.
* Be employed on the basis that the person is, or will be, undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses.
* Hold a Certificate III or IV in one of the following health related disciplines:
o Basic Health Care
o Aged Care
o Health Services Assistance (elective units recommended for AIN Acute care)
o Home and Community Care
o Individual Support Work
o Or such other nationally recognised courses approved within the healthcare setting by full agreement of DHA and the ANMF.
* Experience, within the boundaries of their education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing/midwifery care in the healthcare setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
