Our 60,000 hen - free range egg farm, is seeking a reliable and competent person to help run our farm. We are located approximately 10km west of Maitland, NSW.
The successful applicant will need to be reasonably physically fit. Candidates must be capable of moderate lifting and walking as part of daily farm operations.
Experience is not essential, but a background in farming is highly desirable.
This position requires availability to work weekends as needed to maintain farm operations.
Reliability and punctuality are of utmost importance.
Your duties will include:
* Consistent monitoring of chicken health and performance
* Promptly identifying any faults and either fixing them or reporting them
* Maintaining equipment and facilities in good condition including the acceptable presentation of the sheds and surrounding areas.
* Packing and storing eggs appropriately
* Clean out and reassembly of sheds at end of chicken life cycle
* Maintaining records
* Husbandry of flock
* Participation in ongoing improvement of performance
* Follow safety procedures whilst using bait/chemicals etc
* Basic hygiene i.e washing and sanitizing
