The Witmore Workshop has a strong legacy of guiding supported employees in their roles offering an empathetic environment while offering meaningful work and creating vital social connections.

The Witmore workshop, situated in Maison Dieu is a purpose-built space producing wood products to the mining industry, document shredding services and our Witbusters service providing, bin cleaning, window cleaning and lawn maintenance services. The workshop has potential areas for growth as we continue to seek opportunities for employing more individuals looking for work.

Our Workshop Lead will lead our team on the floor, providing day to day coordination and allocation of work tasks to fulfill customer orders, keep the workshop vibes positive and everyone safe.

This role will combine hands on support work for our supported employees with clear direction and organisation of our workshop team including support workers and supported employees.

This position is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, from 7:30am – 3:30pm and we are ready to welcome you to our team as soon as you're ready to go.

Your Key Focus Areas:

· Workshop Coordination: Allocate and oversee work tasks ensuring jobs are allocated and completed safely, on time and meeting quality standards. Managing incoming goods and outgoing deliveries.

· Participant Support: Be the first point of contact for both supported employees and support workers, acting as a role model and promoting a positive workplace culture. Provide guidance, encouragement and on the job coaching to supported employees.

· Record Keeping & Reporting: Ensure accurate records are kept of tasks allocation and job progress and completion reporting back to management regularly.

· Quality & Safety: Guide, train and support your team to ensure quality and safety of our people and our products. Regularly inspect the workshop to identify hazards and minimise risks.

· Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment and machinery is well maintained and safe to operate.

What we need from you to succeed in the role:

· Current driver's license, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and a Current First Aid Certificate (we have a course booked in soon, so happy for you to complete our training)

· Ideally relevant experience working within the disability sector.

· Effective communication both verbal and written and experience using spreadsheets and strong computer competence.

· Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage conflicting deadlines successfully.

· Ability to communicate positively and effectively with co-workers, participants, customers and the wider community with maturity and discretion.

· Work under pressure in a calm and methodical manner with a strong attention to detail.

· Empathetic and supportive nature, excellent interpersonal skills.

· Confident and energetic
