**About the Role**
They are currently seeking a highly experienced Cost Controller to join their team in Newcastle. These are an estimated 3-month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.
Working within the Project Performance Division, you will required to provide timely and rigorous cost performance monitoring, analysis, control and reporting across IP projects with IP approved cost management and control frameworks.
**Responsibilities**
- Implement and maintain project cost control plan and work breakdown structures
- Contribute to managing the project cost forecasts for current financial year and the Estimate at Completion
- Assist managing project cost management and control interface requirements
- In consultation with project planners, provide time phasing for the financial year and project life forecast aligning to the project schedule and procurement plan
- Administer the project's change control process
- Develop project internal resource costs charged to the project through IP time-sheeting system
- Ensure project cost data is captured accurately and is reflective of current commercial and cost position
- Provide and present routine cost performance reports to project performance team
- Prepare and review monthly accruals and cost recoveries, budget reallocations and transfers
- Support project closure ensuring all cost transactions are finalised and complete
- Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships facilitating collaboration, partnering, engagement and contribution of ideas
- Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements
**About You**
- Demonstrated Cost Controlling experience
- Transportation or Public Sector experience highly advantageous
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Solid analytical, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines

**Requirements**:
- CPA Qualifications
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Excel (advanced), PM Web and SAP
- Reliable remote internet access with the flexibility to work remotely from home
- Fully COVID vaccinated or medically exempt
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
