**The Organisation**

NSW Farmers is Australia's largest state farming organisation, representing the interests of its members across all agricultural commodities. The organisation has staff based across regional NSW and in Sydney to ensure key policies and messages travel from paddock to Parliament.

**Location**

NSW Farmers headquarters is at St Leonards' however this role is open to a flexible hybrid arrangement, where you can be based regionally or in the ACT and travel to St Leonards as agreed.

**The Opportunity**

You will be part of a diverse team coordinating and undertaking research to assist in the development of policy recommendations. You will act as the first point of contact, managing the expectations of members and committees, and communicating priority policies and representation issues of NSW Farmers.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- To undertake high quality policy research and advice on areas affecting the Association's members and to oversee lobbying campaigns to deliver policy outcomes to the members,
- Undertake research and analysis on potential legislation & regulation, and to provide advice to Policy Directors and assist with implementation,
- Assist the policy team and committees with administration and coordination,
- Build relationships and produce deliverables on specific projects,
- Coordinate functions and events relevant to the policy section of NSW Farmers.

**The person**

You will have a demonstrated personal and/or professional commitment to the Agricultural sector and will be a natural problem solver, with the confidence to conduct stakeholder consultation and has the ability to demonstrate initiative in your output.

**The qualifications, skills and qualities you'll need**:

- Tertiary qualifications - Business, Agriculture, Law, Economics, Science or similar,
- Understanding of the Agricultural industry,
- Conceptual thinker and ability to collaborate,
- Strong written, verbal and negotiation skills.
