About the Roles
We are seeking experienced Leading Hand Carpenters and Leading Hand Steelfixers for a major Pilbara project commencing early ****, with consistent and ongoing work secured through the remainder of ****.
These are hands-on leadership roles suited to experienced tradespeople who can lead by example, manage small crews, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a remote civil construction environment.
You will play a key role in supervising daily works, coordinating labour and materials, and ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Leading Hand – Carpenter
Supervise and carry out civil formwork activities (including in-situ concrete works)
Read and interpret drawings and specifications
Lead and coordinate carpentry crews on site
Ensure formwork is constructed accurately, safely and to program
Monitor materials, plant and productivity
Maintain high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping
Liaise with supervisors, engineers and project teams
Mentor and upskill crew members
Leading Hand – Steelfixer
Supervise and undertake steel fixing works for civil concrete structures
Read and interpret reinforcement drawings and schedules
Coordinate steel fixing crews and daily activities
Ensure reinforcement is installed accurately and to specification
Manage materials, bar schedules and productivity on site
Maintain compliance with WHS requirements and site procedures
Work closely with supervisors, engineers and concrete crews
Mentor and develop less experienced crew members

Essential criteria
Proven experience as a Leading Hand Carpenter or Leading Hand Steelfixer
Strong background in civil construction environments
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Demonstrated experience leading small crews
Construction White Card
Current driver's licence
Strong communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safety, quality and productivity
Ability to work rostered FIFO arrangements in the Pilbara
