Casual Sous Chef – Aged Care | Central Coast & Newcastle

Alseasons is seeking skilled Aged Care Chefs to work across aged‑care and residential care kitchens on the Central Coast, with regular travel required to Newcastle to support additional sites.

About the Role
You’ll work across on‑site aged‑care kitchens preparing high‑quality meals tailored to the dietary, cultural and clinical needs of residents. This includes supporting daily meal services, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring full compliance with food safety, aged‑care standards and facility requirements.
Shifts vary across breakfast, lunch and dinner services, with opportunities for additional hours across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook meals aligned with aged‑care dietary and clinical requirements
* Produce texture‑modified meals (soft, minced, pureed)
* Ensure correct portioning, plating standards and serving temperatures
* Work collaboratively with dietitians, speech pathologists and care staff
* Maintain accurate documentation for diet codes, allergens and food safety
* Supervise kitchen staff to meet service timelines and standards
* Manage stock, ordering and inventory to minimise waste and maintain continuity
* Ensure full compliance with food safety, HACCP, infection control and WHS
* Support multiple facilities, including those in Newcastle, as part of the role
What You Need
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
* Aged‑care or healthcare catering experience (essential)
* Strong understanding of texture‑modified diets, allergies and nutrition for older residents
* Knowledge of aged‑care quality standards, infection control and food safety
* Ability to stay calm, organised and consistent in busy kitchen environments
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with clinical teams
* Reliable transport and willingness to travel between Central Coast and Newcastle
* Police Check and/or NDIS (or willingness to obtain)
* Flexibility for early mornings, weekends and public holidays
