**Assistant Buyer**

Working closely with the Head of Buying the Assistant Buyer's role is to support the creation, selection and sourcing of products. The Assistant Buyer's responsibilities include administrative support to the Buying team, maintaining positive vendor relations, placing and tracking purchase orders, managing inventory and keeping abreast of market trends.
The Assistant Buyer should be confident, motivated to learn and grow, highly organized and an excellent communicator.
- Assist the Buying team in all administrative tasks, ensuring deadlines are met with strong attention to detail.
- Database maintenance of existing products, the creation of SKU and upkeep of the master file and range plans
- Ensure website content is up to date and accurate to drive great customer experience.
- Complete marketing campaign planner, manage photography planner, check social media planner weekly and respond to any marketing queries.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Management and approval of product development samples and packaging
- Critical path management and supplier liaison, both International and local
- Monitoring orders and delivery timelines
- Attend supplier meetings, manage submissions and costing files
- Weekly review and assessment of store stock replenishment
- Responding to queries from the logistics team with any receipting and order queries
**Requirements and qualifications**:
- Have a passion for retail and a love of Homewares
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- Have the ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Competent numerical, analytical and organizational skills.
- Able to determine own priorities with the adaptability to changing priorities as required
- A collaborator and team player
- Previous experience in the merchandise or retail industry is a plus.
- Experience with merchandise software systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular, Excel
- Degree in business, economics, marketing or a related field preferred

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
