The Australian Government is seeking an independent statutory officer to serve as the Inspector-General of Animal Welfare and Live Animal Exports (IGAWLAE).
About the role:
* Lead independent reviews of live export regulation and associated animal welfare requirements.
* Increase accountability and transparency of compliance with legislation and standards and promote continual improvement.
* Represent the office with credibility and independence.
About you:
* Experience in veterinary science, regulation, livestock production and exports, or similar disciplines.
* Strong understanding of animal welfare and export regulation.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
This is a part-time, national leadership role with a 5-year appointment, working up to 120 days per year. The successful candidate will shape the future of regulation and animal welfare.
