Within Financial Services, the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Reporting & Data team sits within Group Finance and works across the Group to deliver reporting and data solutions to support the execution of the Group’s commitment to supporting Australia’s transition to a net zero economy by 2050, by continuing to manage the risks and opportunities of climate change, supporting our customers and calling for an inclusive transition. The team’s area’s of focus include: Performance reporting - Internal & external reporting of climate-related commitments including financed emissions, sector-level financed emissions targets and the Bank’s Sustainability Funding Target as well as governance of key environmental, social and governance reporting across the Group. Statutory reporting - Implementation of climate-related mandatory reporting, compliance with regulatory and assurance requirements. Data strategy - Development of the Group’s ESG data strategy including uplifting reporting and data capabilities, and end to end data management activities. ESG Reporting policy – Ensuring the Group has adequate climate and sustainability expertise and support external reporting requirements and business unit support in interpretation of standards. Do work that matters As Senior Manager – ESG Reporting Policy, you will be at the forefront of defining and interpreting sustainability disclosures and frameworks. This role offers an opportunity to shape the Group's sustainability-related disclosures, transforming complex requirements into practical policies and guidance. Your specialised expertise will provide technical advice and decision support, driving the ESG Reporting and Data team’s accountabilities. Initially, your focus will be on climate-related disclosures, but as mandatory sustainability standards evolve, so will your role. Reporting directly to the Executive Manager ESG Reporting Policy, you will collaborate extensively with the broader ESG Reporting & Data team, the Group Environmental & Social Strategy team, and the ESG and finance teams across the CBA Group Business Units. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, comfort working in ambiguity and sound judgment is critically important. The role includes, however is not limited, to the following: Design, set and review policies and guidance to support the Group’s climate-related reporting in line with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS). Interpret and apply relevant voluntary leading frameworks such as Partnership of Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) to CBA’s ESG reporting policies and guidance. Support the broader ESG Performance Reporting team, providing advice and decision support to ensure our climate metrics and targets adhere to internal policies. Collaborate and partner as trusted technical climate metrics subject matter expert and contribute to capability uplift across the Group. Conduct research into emerging ESG reporting frameworks to help inform the Group’s approach and contribute to relevant ESG reporting, frameworks and methodologies. Ad-hoc analysis, peer benchmarking and research to provide senior management with transparency and insights to support decision making. Contribute to a strong and vibrant team culture We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to show: Exceptional demonstrated climate/sustainability reporting or internal/external financial reporting experience, preferably with familiarity of developing and implementing policies and guidance. Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts in simple language. Excellent commercial acumen and professional judgement with an ability to deliver challenging tasks and solve business problems. Comfort working with a level of ambiguity and ability to independently manage multiple deliverables simultaneously. Curious mindset and active learner Strong business partnering skills with a proven track record in collaborating, influencing and driving outcomes with key stakeholders. An understanding of current frameworks and guidance on climate (including greenhouse gas emissions accounting) and implications for financial institutions is desired but not mandatory. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications specifically advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analysis and PowerPoint.
