PARC Engineering is seeking an accomplished Senior SMP Estimator to join our high-performing team at our Applecross Head Office. In this full-time Monday–Friday role, you will work closely with the Estimating Manager and take the lead in preparing competitive bids across a range of SMP tenders, applying industry-standard norms, first-principle estimating, and managing subcontractor and supplier pricing to support our continued growth and project success.

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the preparation of estimates and submission of tenders, ensuring timely submission of documents to ensure required deadlines are achieved.
* Ensure costs for estimates include a high level of detail including direct costs associated with labour, material, subcontractor costs, in addition to preliminaries, including Management, plant & equipment, and any indirect resources required.
* Prepare and review material take-offs from Project Drawings as required to support compiling detailed estimates.
* Compile Technical Clarifications and Basis of Estimate documents to support Proposals.
* Compile, review and oversee the Tender Schedule and methodology compilation for SMP portion of works.
* Attend ad-hoc site visits and client meetings as required.
* Research and review construction and design documents and analyse specifications to determine estimated costs.
* Draw attention to any particularly significant physical or contractual conditions.
* Critically analyse bid documents and understand risk and opportunities; articulate those to management.
* Solicit sub-contractor's bids and material supplier quotations and determine acceptable bids by comparing to self-perform estimates.
* Recommend and incorporate cost-reduction options for more competitive bids.
* Identify and document all technical clarifications concisely to support the tender response.
* Organise the preparation of work method statements consistent with our proposal and with the client's criteria.
* Complete forecast and tender cost reporting.
* Proactively identify and manage contract risks to meet organisational obligations and achieve the planned outcomes of the contract.
* Maintain a complete "Estimating/ Tender notes" log that documents all assumptions and notes during the estimate to hand over to the PM should PARC win the work
Role Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience as an SMP Estimator, ideally within the mining and construction industry
* Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Trade or similar
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly in Excel, MS Project highly desirable.
* Detailed knowledge and experience of applying industry norms or First Principal estimating for Structural, Mechanical and Piping
* Demonstrated ability to prepare tender submissions, compilation of cost estimates and basic schedules
* Comprehension and interpretation of contractual documents, specifications, and drawings
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
* Ability to manage own workload within a high-pressure environment
* Objectivity, sound judgement and decision-making skills
