Aboriginal Cadet Program
The Chevron Aboriginal Cadet Program supports Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to successfully complete their university degree and gain valuable work experience in the energy and resource sector.
Chevron partners with AFL SportsReady to provide a study allowance and 12-weeks of paid employment to students on the program. The cadetship provides an exciting opportunity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to commence a rewarding career in the industry.
About the Role
The cadet will participate in industry-leading oil and gas projects while acquiring practical skills relevant to their field of study.
* 12--weeks paid summer employment at Chevron's head office in Perth
* Annual study allowance of $12,000 (Commonwealth funded and paid by AFL SportsReady)
* Annual books and equipment allowance of $1,000 (Commonwealth funded and paid by AFL SportsReady)
* Ongoing professional support and mentoring
* Opportunity to be considered for Chevron's Horizons Graduate Development Program upon completion of a relevant degree
Eligibility/Requirements
We encourage applications from motivated and talented Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander university students with a keen interest in the industry. We are looking to hear from candidates from the following areas: Engineering, Data science, Information technology, Human Resources, Earth Sciences.
* Be an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
* Identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived
* Be enrolled for your first undergraduate degree course and be studying full-time at an Australian university
* Be available for full-time work (Monday to Friday) from November until February (with the week of December off work)
* Be eligible to legally work and live in Australia permanently
