About the Opportunity
Parkes Shire Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Casual Parks and Gardens Assistant to support the delivery of parks and gardens maintenance and operational activities across Council's Operational Services area. The role involves assisting in the construction and maintenance of Council's urban landscapes, operating and maintaining small plant tools and equipment, maintaining public amenities, engaging in team activities and contributing to a positive team environment, completing tasks directed by the supervisor in line with operational requirements, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and procedures, and maintaining accurate records of work activities. The successful applicant requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience
* Current and maintained driver's licence
* SafeWork NSW construction induction (White Card)
* One year of relevant hands‐on experience in a similar role or industry
* Certificate in civil construction, horticulture, gardening, trade qualification or equivalent
* Plant operations (machinery tickets)
Employment Details
The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment. The role is Grade2 of the Council's salary structure with a commencing salary of $27.10 to $31.17 per hour plus 25% casual loading. The salary will be determined based on the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate. This is a casual role worked on an as‐needed basis, with opportunities for regular hours during peak seasons, Council projects and planned leave coverage.
