Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our hotel's engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining hotel buildings, public areas, and event spaces while overseeing specialized projects and managing colleagues and contractors.
* Maintain compliance with fire, health, and safety regulations, and coordinate regular safety drills to ensure a secure working environment.
* Manage external contractors for specialized maintenance and inspections to ensure timely completion of service works and maintain SLA compliance.
Operating Responsibilities (Post-Opening Transition)
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all technical systems, including guestrooms, public areas, heart-of-house, and outdoor spaces.
* Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance across all areas to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
* Monitor energy usage and implement cost-effective energy management strategies to reduce utility consumption and drive sustainability initiatives.
Safety & Compliance:
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance with fire, health, and safety regulations, as well as coordinating regular safety drills to ensure a secure working environment.
* Implement effective safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
* Conduct regular safety audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Budget Management:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing engineering budgets, capital expenditures, and utility expenses.
* Develop and manage engineering budgets to optimize resource allocation and minimize waste.
* Monitor energy usage and implement cost-effective energy management strategies to reduce utility consumption and drive sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or diploma in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, or related fields) or tradesperson qualification, as well as proven success as an Engineering Manager within luxury or upper-upscale hotels.
