The role of a Senior Librarian (Resources) is to provide the Griffith community with access to the resources they need to engage in outstanding scholarship and research.
Job Description
* This position reports to the Manager, Scholarly Resource Services and works closely with the Head of Scholarly Resource and Library Campus Services.
* The position supports effective management of scholarly resource procurement ensuring compliance with university procurement processes.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
* Analyzing and interpreting data that supports collection development.
* Negotiating for the procurement and licensing of resources.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors, publishers, and agents' representatives.
* Collaborating with stakeholders across the library to identify and promote new acquisitions.
* E nsuring compliance with licensing requirements and copyright laws.
About You
* You should have some previous experience in delivering library services or supporting information technology in a higher education context.
* You will also be:
o A good communicator with demonstrated strong client support and problem-solving skills.
o Flexible, well-organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
o Focused on continuous improvement within a rapidly changing environment.
o Tertiary qualified in library or information science or other relevant discipline, and eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, experience, and training.
