The Opportunity
As part of our expansive workshop footprint and Asset Management Team, the Mobile Plant Mechanic is responsible for executing the effective and safe day-to-day maintenance across our operating assets including prime movers, trailers, cranes, forklifts, excavators, wheel loaders and hoppers. This position will be based in NSW (at our Port Kembla site) however you may be required to support at other locations as the role is part of a greater asset management team.
The Mobile Equipment Mechanic - NSW will ensure all maintainable assets across our workplaces are supported by planned work, and structured service schedules that meet regulatory and OEM standards.
This includes:
* Performing routine (preventative) maintenance;
* Minor and major repairs;
* On Call rotating roster attending break downs on site and ensuring equipment is brought back into service within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner;
* Fault finding and diagnostics to assist the prevention of break downs or unexpected down time. This includes troubleshooting on Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electrical systems;
* Reporting into the Assets Management Team and being flexible to work across locations when required.
About You
We are seeking a trade qualified Plant Mechanic with heavy plant or heavy vehicle maintenance experience. Previous auto electrical, hydraulic and crane servicing knowledge is an advantage, so too is working within the framework of a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
You will be required to supply your own basic tool kit, but most specialised equipment will be available.
You will be adaptive and flexible in meeting the dynamic service delivery requirements of operations and be an effective communicator and team player. You must be highly safety conscious, have a strong work ethic, and an enthusiastic attitude towards service delivery.
