The Opportunity Work alongside a professional and supportive Administrative Team and be responsible for efficiently preparing, delivering, and retrieving patient records to support patient care. The role will include but is not limited to: Compile medical records of discharged patients as required Seek, locate and obtain medical records as requested (ie. for patients coming in, current inpatients, quality purposes and clinical needs) Answer and action queries from internal and external customers in a polite, timely and efficient manner Maintain high level of confidentiality and privacy in relation to information Accurately track medical records in and out of the department if required Perform follow-up of outstanding deficiencies (e.g. discharge summaries and pathology) Perform ‘culling’ and archiving of medical records in a timely and methodical manner Perform and assist with quality improvement activities of the department Perform discharge procedures according to department policy Maintain the Medical Records Forms Register Where indicated supply medical records forms to hospital departments as requested Perform efficient scanning of appropriate documentation Maintain the hospital’s archive register as required Comply with relevant department policies and procedures About You You will be a highly organised and process focused professional with previous experience in medical records or another clerical position within a health care setting. You will also demonstrate: A Certificate in Medical Terminology desirable Strong customer service skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders A strong level of computer literacy/knowledge Ability to manage confidential patient data through our Medical Records Systems Requirements Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
