Tasks Include:
* Coordinating and overseeing environmental monitoring strategies for yabby operations.
* Overseeing and undertaking structured breeding, feeding, and nutrition programs for yabby aquaculture operations to ensure optimal growth performance, stock health, and production outcomes.
* overseeing transportation of yabby stock from dams to tanks.
* Overseeing harvesting, grading, processing, and packaging operations for yabby stock, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
* Directing and overseeing general farming activities within a yabby operation, including planning, provision, operation, and maintenance of farming infrastructure and associated equipment to support safe and efficient production.
* Maintaining, evaluating, and analysing comprehensive records of yabby aquaculture activities, planning production strategies to optimise supply, efficiency, and market responsiveness.
* Overseeing and coordinating data collection and analysis, and the operation and maintenance of farm technology systems within yabby aquaculture operations to support informed decision-making, efficiency, and compliance.
* Train and supervise staff and contractors within yabby aquaculture operations, providing guidance on best practices, safety procedures, and operational standards to optimise productivity and compliance.
* Managing a commercial kitchen to process and value-add yabby and abalone products, ensuring quality, food safety, and market-ready presentation for domestic sales.
* Conducting selective breeding programs for colour-enhanced yabbies.
* Engaging and communicating with farmers and tourists to provide information, guidance, and support regarding yabby and aquaculture operations.
* Manual drivers licence required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
