You will play a key role in ensuring hospital plant, equipment and critical systems operate safely and reliably in accordance with Australian Standards and healthcare compliance requirements.The position is 30 hours per week, typically Tuesday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm, with some flexibility within a Monday to Friday framework. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with electrical and technical systems experience to contribute to a safe, high-performing hospital environment.**The Position*** Maintenance of plant and equipment within the hospital in accordance with the planned maintenance schedules, work requests system and statutory requirements.* Respond promptly to work requests that may come verbally from the Facility Services Manager, through requisition forms, or in emergency situations by telephone, and discuss any delays with the Facility Services Manager.* Attend to requisitions in order of priority as allocated in MEX. Generally, a patient's comfort and safety is given the highest priority.* Oversee the installation of new plant and equipment including associated wiring, and amend drawings when necessary.* Be an active member of the engineering department core team and foster the concepts of continuous improvement.* Oversee & maintain the hospital Alarm system & the hospital Access control systems.* Perform statutory testing in accordance with the relevant compliance codes. You will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and the capacity to work efficiently in an unsupervised environment.A **Victorian Driver's Licence and own car** are required, along with proficiency in standard office software and engineering works management software.To succeed in this role, you will hold a suitable **Trade qualification** and have more than **three years post-qualification experience** (or full-time equivalent).
