We are seeking a proactive and detail‐focused Project Support Officer to assist the Major Projects team in the delivery of capital works through best practice project, procurement and contract management support.
What we're looking for
You're an organised and collaborative professional with experience supporting infrastructure projects within a medium to large organisation, ideally in a government or regulated environment. You bring a solid understanding of procurement and contract administration, are confident working with project and purchasing systems, and enjoy supporting multiple stakeholders to keep projects on track. With strong communication and customer service skills, you take pride in accurate record‐keeping, meeting coordination and producing clear documentation. You're comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel to support reporting and project functions, can manage competing priorities, and thrive as part of a team working toward shared goals. A Queensland Driver's Licence is essential, and qualifications (or working toward) in procurement or project management will be highly regarded.
What you'll be doing
* Provide advice and support to the Major Projects team in the use of Council's Project Management System
* Support procurement activities in line with Council's Purchasing Policy, including tenders, quotations, expressions of interest and terms of reference
* Assist with contract management activities such as contract preparation, award, register maintenance, progress assessment and reporting
* Provide administrative support to project meetings, including minute taking and record keeping
* Support the implementation and capitalisation of CAPEX projects delivered by the Major Projects team
* Implement, manage and monitor material supply, construction and professional services contracts
* Work closely with project teams to ensure purchasing and contract processes are delivered effectively and efficiently
* Support purchase card administration, reconciliation activities and associated controls
* Deliver high‐quality customer service and contribute positively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
* Ensure all corporate information is captured in Council systems in line with record‐keeping policies
