Urban Design Professional
The Urban Design Team is seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join our team. As an Urban Designer, you will work collaboratively across the organisation to plan and design civic and urban open spaces and facilities ensuring industry best practice to meet the needs of the community within a regional council area.
You will undertake network gap analysis (including management of consultants) to deliver feasibility investigations, strategic technical reports, engineering designs, concepts, visualisations and detailed cost estimates for a range of urban infrastructure development projects.
About the Role
We are seeking someone who has knowledge and experience in urban design/landscape architecture, research & analysis, concept design, detailed design and production of construction documentation; preferably in local government. Skills in the development of wayfinding and interpretive signage strategies and documentation for public open spaces would be desirable.
You will have excellent project management skills and time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
You will thrive in building great relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will communicate and engage effectively at all levels.
Responsibilities
* Experience in network analysis and the delivery of civic and open space planning projects to achieve best practice design outcomes
* Sound knowledge and applied understanding of relevant legislation, policies and industry best practice standards
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs. Experience using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) would be highly regarded.
