Job Description:
This is a unique opportunity to work on the digitisation and transformation of Corporate and Operational IT within a Federal Government Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop strategic plans for the replacement/upgrade of End of Life and End of Support items, including discovery, analysis, recommendation, and migration.
2. Remediate key infrastructure risks through strategic planning and implementation.
3. Collaborate with outsourced ICT providers and business owners on technical strategies and tactical wins.
4. Evaluate and ensure alignment with DAFF's cloud/on-prem models.
5. Ensure smooth transition of final solutions to BAU teams.
6. Analyse data for operational support teams using information systems.
7. Work closely with business and product stakeholders to understand needs, expectations, and current pain points.
8. Maintain compliance with relevant governance arrangements associated with delivery of the department's ICT projects.
9. Stay up-to-date with ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside formal education.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive experience as an Infrastructure Architect working in Federal Government is required. A minimum of 5 years' experience working within technology, networks, and/or infrastructure projects is also necessary. Additionally, knowledge of or experience implementing ISM and Essential 8 controls is essential. Demonstrated experience with a broad range of infrastructure technologies, including Azure cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Linux/Unix and Windows servers and databases, ICT services including DNS, NTP, AD, PKI, Microsoft Exchange, monitoring, logging, automation/CICD, and VDI technologies, is highly desirable.
