This role sits within the People and Culture team and offers flexibility in how and where work is performed, including remote working arrangements.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, the Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll while maintaining payroll and workforce data across the organisation's systems.
This is a hands-on operational role where you will contribute to end to end payroll processing, maintain employee records, and ensure payroll information is accurate and compliant. You will work closely with colleagues across People and Culture and operational teams to ensure payroll processes run smoothly and employees are paid correctly.
Key responsibilities
1. Fortnightly Payroll Processing
Supporting the accurate processing of payroll across a national workforce, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
2. Payroll Data Maintenance
Maintaining payroll and employee records including onboarding details, employee changes, and system updates.
3. Award Interpretation
Supporting the interpretation and application of Awards and employment conditions to ensure compliant payroll outcomes.
4. Payroll Transactions
Processing payroll updates including leave, allowances, and employee record changes.
5. Superannuation Administration
Maintaining superannuation fund information and supporting clearing house processes to ensure contributions are processed in line with legislative requirements.
6. Statutory Reporting
Supporting Single Touch Payroll reporting and ensuring payroll data meets statutory and reporting obligations.
7. Payroll Systems Maintenance
Maintaining payroll, time and attendance, and personnel records across internal systems.
8. Stakeholder Communication
Working with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve payroll queries and manage employee pay updates.
9. Payroll Reporting Support
Assisting with payroll reporting, month end processes, and year end payroll requirements.
10. Process Improvement
Contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll systems, processes, and reporting.
11. Confidentiality and Data Integrity
Maintaining strict confidentiality and ensuring the integrity of payroll and employee data.

* Experience working in payroll processing, ideally within complex or multi award environments
* Understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation, and employee conditions
* Experience maintaining payroll and employee records within HR or payroll systems
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage payroll data accurately
* Ability to interpret employment conditions, Awards, or enterprise agreements
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
* Well developed organisational and time management skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information
